    "Incredibly happy with the results"

I had LASEK eye surgery on Nov 23rd by Mr Kazmi at the Belfast clinic and from the moment I left I have been incredibly happy with my results. On the day of the surgery I was introduced to my surgeon Mr Kazmi. We spent about 20-30 mins discussing the risks of the surgery in direct relation to my prescription. During this process, all of my questions were answered, and a quick eye inspection was performed. Mr Kazmi came across as being very relaxed, very detailed, and very intelligent. Next I was introduced to a nurse who told me what to expect during the operation, and how to use the drops. I was told to expect the majority of my pain to come the day of surgery as the aesthetic wears off. I was also given LASIK duo-shield goggles to sleep in at night. After administering lots (and I mean LOTS of numbing drops) the nurse took me into the laser room, and introduced me to everyone and sat me down on the operating table. During the operation I felt absolutely no pain, no pressure, zero discomfort with my eyes being held open, and zero desire to blink. The laser did make some sounds whilst it was reshaping my cornea but it wasn\'t startling at all (I actually remember thinking \"OK this is actually not a big deal at all\"). The laser did make a smell when it was operating, perhaps a little like the smell of an old hair dryer, it wasn\'t as off-putting as I was expecting. When the surgery was complete, with somewhat misty vision, I was taken into a darker part of the building to relax for a bit. Mr Kazmi later came out to see how I was feeling, shook my hand, and then sent me on my way home. For the rest of the day, to my surprise, I had very little sensitivity to light and did not have to use the day 1 aesthetic drops that delay healing. I have blogged all of my progress at lasekeyes.blogspot.com , but in summary, I never got pain in my right eye at all. I only got some mild discomfort in my left eye in night 1 and day 2 and some on and off contact lens discomfort. Everyone always says that LASEK hurts a lot, but it appears the height of my pain can be likened to an eyelash stuck in your eye for a few minutes; a walk in the park.

    "So happy with results"

I had lasik eye surgery at optical express on 21/11/12 and am so happy with the results. The clinic is very clean, very new looking and the staff were fantastic. Really friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them. The surgery was quick and almost painless, the suction created to make a flap wasn\'t comfortable but took seconds. Surgery in total only took 10 mins and most of that was prepping. Sight was better immediately. Once the anaesthetic wore off, it was awful but after 4 hours sleep, my sight was almost perfect. They give you follow up appointments for the next day and the next week. I\'ve just had my one week appointment and got told that my eye sight was good enough to fly a fighter jet. Amazing results, great friendly knowledgable staff.

    "Wasted time"

BE FOREWARNED Ultralase has no problems in waiting your time. Clearly is you have an issue with being short sighted or long sighted then this treatment may well work. Here is my experience. I made an appointment to attend the Chelmsford clinic on Wednesday the 8th of August 2012 at 14.30. I was informed that I had to set aside two hours and that the required my credit card detail to cover none attendance. I’ve had issues with my eyes for many years and have had to attend an eye clinic for monitoring. I’ve had no treatment or medication. Before attending the appointment, I decided that it would be prudent to get as much medical history about my eyes as possible, so I paid £18 to my doctor. Studying this information it turned out that I have several issues which hadn’t been explained to me. mild Thyroid Disease, Epiretinal membrane, Vitreous detachment a possible course of distortion in my left eye, Early nuclear cataracts. Vitreous opacity, most of these have question marks next to them, after researching these issues and having doubts as to whether treatment was possible I realised that it was unlikely. I contacted Ultralase to ask if they thought there was any point in my attending the appointment, they were clear that they thought I should, but it was up to me, they said that until I had been toughly examined no decision could be made. When said that by their own price list states that possible nuclear cataracts, would start me off at £7000. I was told that I’d be surprised at just how much can be done for far less than that. On attending the clinic the young female staff were friendly, offering coffee and to make a phone call to my lift, as my eyes would be blurred and light sensitive and again I was told it would take two hours. Everyone I encountered seemed friendly, store friendly, as here was a possible potential of up to £7000. It came to my time and I was called, you may think I’m being unreasonable here, but I was called by my first name, which I considered unprofessional , I wasn’t asked how I’d like to be addressed . I was asked to attend the examination room. I asked the person who took me there, she turned out to be the optometrist, how much experience she had and what her qualifications were, Smiling at me she asked, why do I look young. I said, no, I said the information pack tells potential clients to ask questions as they go along. She seemed offended, but told me. I informed her that I’d brought my current medication list, last three eye examinations, the history of my eyes and the findings, a synopses of this and a list of questions. She seemed surprised. She sat me down and did my eye pressure, this took five minutes. She then took me to another room and read my information, this took another five minutes. She looked at me and said that considering my eye issues; even if they changed the lenses on my eyes to deal with the possible cataracts this could easily make the distortion in my left eye worse. They would also have problems with the possible Thyroid Disease and the other stuff was also a problem. I was back in the waiting room in fifteen minutes, No further tests were tried. They staff’s attitude towards me had reversed, they were no longer particularly pleasant and when I pointed out that I’d informed the phone staff about my eye issues and was still encouraged to attend and therefore they had wasted my day and that they should reimburse my costs to and from the clinic. I was told that I didn’t have to attend, it was my choice and it was nothing to do with them. At least they didn’t try and continue with the treatment. So again beware.

    "High Prescription but great result!"

Overall my experience at Ultralase has been very positive! I had a few consultations at different places but at Ultralase I was taken care of from the moment I walked into the Birmingham branch. I got to meet my surgeon, which was very important to me. My prescription was a sphere of -5 dioptres and cylinder of +3 dioptres and I was recommended to have lasik wavefront due to my high prescription. The treatment was very quick and felt only very minimal stinging pain for a few moments. I used eye drops for a couple of days and within 3 days of the surgery was back at work, the gym and driving. Overall great experience, go for it!

    "The staff were great"

From my first consultation to the surgery itself to the aftercare, the staff were great. Everything was explained to me properly and the various options were made very clear. The treatment day went well, the surgeon was very expeienced (he told me over 15 years in the job) and was 100% professional. Pain levels vary from patient to patient, mine was actually quite painful, and the pain lasted quite a few hours, especially after the drops wore off (but was advised of this). The other staff were very good too - the nurse was friendly and chatted to me while we were waiting to go in to the treatment room. All in all I would say Ultralase Nottingham got it spot on and I would be happy for any member of my family / any friend to have their treatment with Ultralase. Oh, and I can see to driving standard in both eyes - amazing.

    "So far so good!"

I\'ve just come from my consultation at the Ultralase branch in Leeds and have to say I was very impressed. The consultation took over 2 hours but I now have a accurate prescription, a payment plan I\'m happy with and all my questions answered. The staff were very patient and now I\'m just awaiting a treatment plan which is suitable. Can\'t wait! So far so good!

"Wish that I had gone for it earlier"

I had my treatment back in 2009 and two years on I have perfect 20/20 vision. I was worried before the surgery but the Ultralase staff put me at ease and explained the Ultra Lasik procedure in detail. I was 36 when I had the treatment and wish that I had gone for it earlier. Ultralase were very good with after care appointments. Overall very satisfied.

"Do not have to wear glasses for distance vision"

I was short sighted and had a high prescription of 8.5. I\'ve worn glasses nearly all my life for my distance vision. I attended a consultation in Manchester and was told that with Ultra Elite treatment one eye would be focused on distance vision and one eye would remain on near vision. I was worried as did sound strange, but my advisor talked me through the procedure and how my brain would react to the change. I had the surgery and now I do not have to wear glasses for distance vision and my near vision has remained excellent. Ultralase in Manchester have been great and the procedure has given me more confidence.

"Consultation at Ultralase was all about me"

I went to quite a few consultations to see which surgeon and company I preferred. The consultation at Ultralase was all about me with minimum sales fuss. The consultation at others like Optical Express felt like a sales process. On the day of my surgery I was treated within 30 minutes and I was out of the clinic within the hour. I spent a few days off work and resting and my aftercare appointment shown I have 20/20 eyes. Ultralase did everything correctly and since then I\'ve recommended the company to quite a few people including family.

    "Very Happy with Hammersmith Ultralase"

I am very happy with the whole process at the Hammersmith clinic of Ultralase. Right from booking a consultation I was well looked after and the whole laser eye surgery procedure was made very obvious to me. My left eye sight was much worse than my right but now both are 20/20 vision and I don\'t need to wear my contact lenses. I would recommend the team at Hammersmith.

"Saved over £2,000 on Eye Surgery"

I had laser eye surgery at the Leeds clinic of Ultralase. I only have good things to say about Ultralase as they were very responsive when I had my treatment in Nov 10 and was likewise at the aftercare appointments. I\'m over 50 and my eyesight has never been so good since my teens, I\'ve now got 20/20 vision. I do wear reading glasses still but I was very happy with the treatment. I was quoted at over £4250 but as I was flexible and given a time slot at short notice I saved over £2,000 on my treatment.

"Staff were great at Ultralase Nottingham"

I was made up with the surgery but I am dissapointed to have paid as much as I did especially when I see that others have not. However, my prescription was quite high. I had my eye treatment at the branch in Nottingham and the staff were great and now little over 2 year later I can see without glasses or contacts and have had no problems since. I would say it maybe possible to bring the price down simply by asking.

"Lifetime Guarantee actually means a Lifetime"

I had my initial surgery at the St Albans clinic of Ultralase back in 2004 and was really pleased with the results. Within a couple of days I had 20/20 vision and have not had a problem in the 7 years until a couple of months ago. I called Ultralase and they booked me back in for a consultation and treated one of my eyes and now my eyesight is fine again. It is reassuring the lifetime guarantee actually means a lifetime guarantee and I would not hesitate to recommend Ultralase to others.
